- Water Activities with InflatableSource: By:wl-inflatable01 Posted:04-10-2014 Views:
When the temperature rises, one of the first things kids and adults think of is jumping in the swimming pool. It doesn't take long for the newness of the toys to wear off, but if you incorporate a few water activities to use with the inflatables, you'll keep the fun going all summer long.
Relay Race
Make a swimming relay race using inflatable toys. Use larger inflatable mats or rafts and divide the kids into two or more small groups. Place one child from each team on one end of the pool, with the rest of their teammates on the other end. The child has to climb on the raft, swim down to the other end and grab a teammate. They go back to the starting line, and then paddle the raft back to get another teammate. The first team to get all players on the raft and over the finish line wins. If you have small rafts and large groups, let the kids hold onto the raft, rather than sitting on it.
Water ball
Build your own ball field either inside the swimming pool or using both the pool and the area around the swimming pool. Designate the bases, with small inflatable toys and use a larger toy as the pitching mound. Let the pitcher toss a waffle or other lightweight ball to the person batting. That person hits the ball with another inflatable toy. If you have a smaller pool, let the kids run around the bases outside the pool, but keep the pitcher and other players inside the swimming pool. Keep the games going the same as you would if playing outside the pool, though the kids swim to their next base instead of running.
Balancing Match
Use bigger rafts and have enough for each child. Make sure that the raft is big enough for the child to sit or stand on it. Count down from three and then make each child jump up and stand on the raft or sit on it. The point is for the children to maintain their balance the longest. Within a few seconds, you should notice that the kids are falling off their inflatable raft. The winner is the person who can keep their balance the longest.
