- How to repair inflatable slides for children?Source: By:wl-inflatable Posted:09-18-2024 Views:
Inflatable slides are a popular addition to any child's birthday party. They are made in a variety of shapes and styles, but almost all are made out of durable vinyl. While the jumper is strong, it can still be victim to tears and punctures. If your slide is damaged, it must be repaired using a repair kit. These kits contain everything you will need to keep your kids bouncing.
1 Unzip the jumper's access hole (if it has one) and turn the slide inside-out. Patching the inside will look much better than patching the outside. If you cannot turn the slide inside-out, you will have to patch the outside.
2 Flatten the punctured section on the ground. Cut a vinyl patch that is two inches larger that the puncture in all directions. The edges should be rounded to help prevent future peeling.
3 Clean the punctured area with rubbing alcohol and a rag. Apply vinyl adhesive around the puncture. If your patch has a peel-off backing, remove it. Firmly press the patch against the cleaned vinyl, smoothing out any air bubbles.
4 Cut out and apply mesh reinforcement over the patch if your kit includes one. Apply a second, slightly larger patch over the mesh to secure it in place. Set several phone books or another weight onto the patch. Let the patch dry for the amount of time recommended by the manufacturer. This may be anywhere from a few hours to an entire day. Re-inflate the slide and ensure that no air is leaking thorough the patch.
