Inflatable water toys are particularly enjoyable during the hot summer days. The water toys are constructed of vinyl and nylon and powered by an electric blower that keeps the toy inflated. Inflatables are designed to allow some air to escape, but occasionally a large hole or tear can allow too much air to escape, which causes the inflatable to collapse. the water toys generally have to suffer a lot of wear and tear from hoards of excited kids, and sooner or later you may well end up with holes or rips which you'll need to repair.The good news is that you can repair large tears or holes with clear adhesive patches.
There are a couple of techniques you can use depending on whether you’re dealing with a hole or a tear. If there is no obvious rip and the water toy is leaking air, but you can't find the location of the hole, then you can find it using the same method you would use for a punctured tire: make a solution containing water and washing up liquid and pour or spray it on the inflated toy. If bubbles appear anywhere on the surface, then that's where the hole is. Make sure the area is completely dry before you repair the hole using a puncture repair kit
1 Inflate the water toy, but do not turn on the water. Locate the tear or hole that you want to repair. Inspect the area for any debris, dirt or loose threads. Remove all loose threads and dirt by wiping the area gently with a clean cloth.
2 Clean the area around the hole with rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cleaning cloth. Clean an area about two inches all the way around the hole or tear. Wait for the alcohol to completely evaporate.
3 Peel about one inch of the backing from the adhesive patch. Anchor the patch strip about two inches above the tear in the bounce house. Slowly peel the backing away from the patch while simultaneously smoothing the patch over the hole.
